For our latest Q&A Spotlight, we wanted to highlight new and exciting places in our beloved capital city and what's better than @moodjakarta? We caught up with the duo founders of the newly-opened wellness studio and kitchen - Audria and Janice - and asked about their new space that serves as studio, wholesome cafe and also a rooftop bar, located nicely in South Jakarta area. With its fresh concept and their genuine passions to provide an all-in-one place for Jakartans, the two explains about their new venture, marketing strategies they adopt and much more!
1) Hello, can you tell us more about yourself.
Hi there. I am Audria, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Tourism Management and my partner, Janice has Bachelor of Business in Marketing and Advanced Advertising, we are both the Co-Founder of Mood.
2) What’s Mood Jakarta and what's the inspirations behind it?
Mood - Wellness Studio and Kitchen is a sanctuary for busy Jakartans to wind down and regroup. It is a space that offers wholesome meals and drinks where being healthy is something that should be sustainable; without any deprivation and actually consuming real wholesome food and drinks that comes from real ingredients, cooked and served without any added preservatives to uphold values of sustainability over instant pleasure.
For the studio, we create a space that comes from a non-judgmental perspective, where we don't differentiate and create classes with modifications. For every patron to come and practice at their own pace and to turn their focus inwards, collectively - this has led us to create candlelit yoga classes, which is held in a dark candlelit room to encourage students to focus on themselves, rather than being distracted by other in the reflection.
3) What are the strategies to promote your venture and menus in this competitive industry?
Honestly, it is to be genuine in what you do and what you promote. It should come from the actual owners and team's interest and passion. Even as a customer myself at other ventures, I can feel when the brand does not reflect the owners. This somehow creates a distance between being in connection with the brand and as the customer. For our menu strategies, we put emphasis on our values that translate well in our menus. For example, we focus on zero waste in our kitchen and bar, we support sustainability by utilizing organic ingredients as well as supporting local farmers welfare by having farm-to-table dishes.
4) What can healthy-conscious visitors expect at your place?
Expect a rather wholesome meal that will fill you up, in which it's made with real and fresh ingredients.
5) What are your future plans for Mood Jakarta?
Our future plan is to create a better, more conscious and non-judgmental society by building a community of real people to share our real struggles and real achievements. What we currently have planned is for Mood to be able to branch out to host wellness trips around Indonesia where we can also bring international visitors to enjoy and explore our beloved country. We also hope to host wellness festivals that target specifically younger generations.
